Electrotherapy/ Magnetic field/ Ultrasound

Electrotherapy
There are many different forms of electrotherapy. In my patients, I use transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS).
The TENS device is a small, handy electrical device that is used with the help of adhesive electrodes. It works with low-frequency pulse current and is mainly used for local pain treatment and muscle stimulation in case of paralysis. Furthermore, it has a circulation-promoting effect.
The effect depends on the intensity and frequency of the stimuli. At appropriate frequencies, the pain impulses of the sensitive nerves are superimposed and inhibited and there is a long-lasting pain relief.
Electromagnetic Therapy
We all live in the natural magnetic field of the earth and every living cell has its own magnetic field. All life needs magnetism like the air to breathe. No life without magnetism.
When a cell becomes ill, the strength of its magnetic field decreases significantly. Using pulsed magnetic fields, damaged cells can be positively stimulated. The magnetic field completely penetrates the body of the dog. The oxygen uptake of the cells and their energy metabolism is increased, the removal of metabolic waste is promoted, the blood circulation improves and pain and tension are alleviated. The healing of wounds and fractures is also stimulated and the immunity is strengthened. This results in very diverse applications.
Ultrasound Therapy
This is the application of ultrasonic waves for therapeutic purposes.
The ultrasonic waves cause the cells in the tissue to vibrate and thus lead to a kind of micro-massage. Especially in deeper tissue layers there is also a thermal effect with vascular dilation.
The ultrasound therapy has an analgesic and muscle relaxing effect. It stimulates blood circulation and tissue regeneration and can dissolve adhesions. It is specifically indicated for lesions of muscles, tendons and ligaments, but also for example in contractures, neuralgia, arthrosis and post-traumatic conditions.
In the ultrasound treatment, there is always used a contact gel in order to ensure optimum transmission of the sound waves. At the same time, drugs can be introduced by means of ultrasound.
