The heat therapy
has a relaxing, circulation-promoting and analgesic effect. It is also well suited as a preparation for the physiotherapeutic treatment and can be applied e.g. in the form of red light, heat pad or the hot roll.
The cold therapy
reduces the blood circulation and has anti-inflammatory and decongestant effects. Pain is relieved and muscle tone is increased. This treatment is therefore mainly used in inflammation, after trauma (sprains, bruises ...) and surgery, as well as flaccid paralyzes. E.g. ice lolly, cryopacks or grain pillows are used.
Neurologicaltreatment
Neurological treatment techniques can be used for nerve diseases and paralyzes of any kind.
The affected animals often cannot perform certain movements or sequences of movements. The aim of the treatment is therefore to restore the dog to lost functions, to rehearse physiological movement patterns and to promote body awareness and coordination.
Among other things, various manual techniques, stabilizing exercises, stimulation current therapy and aids (hedgehog ball, brush, ice lolly ...) are used. Swimming is also very suitable for neurological deficits.
Respiratory therapy
Respiratory therapy involves the application of heat, inhalations, and certain manual techniques such as effleurage and percussion. Also, vibrations are very effective.
The aim of the treatment is expectoration, a better mobility of the thorax and the ribs and to deepen and ease the breathing.
The respiratory therapy is used in dogs with respiratory diseases and in dogs who cannot move actively after an accident / surgery or due to age / illness. The inactivity leads to a slower, flatter breathing; deeper lung areas are no longer adequately ventilated and bacteria and mucus can accumulate more easily.
